At one point, we came to the banks of the river flowing not far away, half-way between Corno and Warsaw. All the prisoners,
all the deportees who were on this road hadn't eaten or drunk
on the road, and they were forced to march. I don't know if you realize the kind of heat you have in Poland, in July. It must have been between 25° and 30° C, if not more. Torrid heat, and we didn't have anything to drink. We saw this river,everybody rushed down to drink. And up above, from a bridge, the SS began
